We are so glad you are visiting us- and we'd love to have you come see us on the third floor of the Davis Mercantile in Shipshewana, Indiana! We carry a wonderful line of children's books and toys, including Thomas The Tank Engine, Melissa and Doug, Klutz, Playmobil, and over 1,000 book titles. It really is a child's world of adventure!!
We opened in the fall of 2005, a few weeks following the reopening of the Davis Mercantile. Our grand opening celebration took place in February 2006, 2 years after a fire destroyed the original Davis Hotel/Davis Mercantile complex. What an exciting opportunity to be a part of the rebuilding, and the start of a new journey! We are always looking for toys that will make kids think, encourage their imagination, and run on kid-power, rather than battteries. If you're looking for the best selection of Melissa and Doug, or Thomas the Tank, you've got to come to Red Wagon. We are also continually adding to our collection of books, ranging from Dick and Jane, to The Boxcar Children, to classics like Huck Finn, and James and the Giant Peach. One of our newest lines is Playmobil, and Playmobil 123, designed for ages 2-4. We pride ourselves on bringing you great products and even better customer service- a combination you won't find just anywhere! (Shipping always available, as well.)
For children of all ages, this is the place to be- it's the cure for curiosity! After you visit Red Wagon, take a ride on the 1910 Carousel, right next door. Many of the animals were carved and painted locally, and the music and decorations change with the seasons. Just down the hall you can find Shipshewana's best candy collection at Aunt Millies Nut and Candy. Quarter candy, pucker powder, taffy, delicious chocolates...YUM!
Also on our floor... Daily Bread Bakery and Cafe, and The Scrapyard- a scrapbooker's dream!
